Well, we had the September meeting on Wednesday 14th and I was a little disappointed with the poor turnout. The venue, Crowfield Village Hall, is a very nice room with plenty of space and parking. There were only 5 of us who turned up and, whilst it was great to see Alan Phillips after a long while, especially as he brought a lovely little model he’s making, it does make me wonder about the benefit of arranging these evenings if the turn-out is to be so low. We’ll discuss this at the AGM
New Venue for AGM
As you are, no doubt, aware, the Combs Bowls Club is no longer available to us for use as a meeting venue. We did try to get a room at the Needham Market Community Centre but to no avail. We have found a venue, at reasonable cost, for both the September Meeting and the AGM at Crowfield Village Hall. Please let the Secretary know if you need directions.
Both of these meetings will be moved to Wednesdays:
September Meeting - Wednesday 14th Sept
AGM - Wednesday 12th October - (further details HERE)
We hope to revert to Tuesdays at a new venue after the AGM.
Whilst the water level remains very low (bring your wellies to launch), the Canadian Pond Weed, which has been hampering sailing, has been dragged to the shoreline. This enables sailing of most boats although, if you have a deep keeled yacht, please ensure that your wellies are at least as tall as your keel is deep!
